Hello SMALL Farm Enthusiasts!

Thanksgiving Day Delivery:  In case you haven't heard, we will be delivering your order on Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving instead of Thursday, for those who pick up in Highsprings, Gainesville, Ocala, Dade City, Tampa, St. Pete, Clearwater, Palm Harbor, Brandon and Bradenton.  Same time and place, just one day earlier.  Please note that the deadline to place your order is one day earlier as well, so please get your orders in as soon as possible.

New Tampa pick up location!  For our customers who usually pick up on Par Ave at the empty lot, your pick up location has moved!  Please go to https://fullcirclerealfoods.co... to see all the details Re: this new spot.

We bought 6 cows that have jumped right in and gotten busy here. Production is up and demand crazy but we are doing our best to keep up. Tests for A-2 have been sent off so we will soon know what we have with the new cows. We need more of both milks so it really does not matter what the new cows are but we do need to know.  All the milk from the new cows will be sold as A-1 till we know.  We have some terrific help here with a new interning couple and want to make the most of it.  We have lots of projects going as well as teaching them the day to day things/grind. This couple is from Jax but will be going to New York to start farming in partnership with a friend as soon as they leave here in March. One project we are working on is harvesting and planting our own cane. Last year we bought cane to plant from Jesse Green and planted our first, now we have an awesome but small crop. We want to plant lots more and have lots more next year so we can sell seed to whomever, plus juice. We need a nice table top cane juicer if anyone knows of one for sale. For several years we will drink raw green cane juice and maybe sell some.  Then at some point maybe cook it down to cane syrup or even sugar. But for now we are excited about the health benefits of the raw juice as noted here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKTYGrBoKAE and here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGt2qNyli8M and I even found one guy claiming it cured his skin cancer! People tell us all kind of things about raw milk too and I believe most of it but we just focus on producing it because we do not need to hype sell it anyway. It sells itself and I believe the cane might do the same. So we will harvest and plant more every year and grow a whole new business here.

Satsuma’s are back from Little River Organics. It's been a few years since we've had a crop . Trees became overgrown and a serious pruning program was needed. Now they are dripping with top quality mandarins. Satsumas are mostly seedless and EZ peel so kids love em, they contain a long list of antioxidants beyond Vitamin C and the mild-tasting peel is edible adding greatly to their nutrient value.

We have full bushel boxes, half and quarter bushel mesh-bags and half bushel gift boxes ready to be labeled and shipped UPS, by you, before Christmas.

Movie Night: Learn farming by joining us on movie night at FCF? Yes we are going to start doing a movie night here, perhaps weekly, starting with “The Salatin Semester” which costs a couple hundred dollars to buy, if you want to join the farm team here at FCF for this evening of learning, email me directly at thisisdennis@windstream.net for details. We will watch an hour or so of educational teaching then have a discussion about what we watched. Join us whether you are a farmer or consumer.

New Products

Sweet Potatoes from Sammy, a local farmer, are back again this year, not organic but, almost as Sammy says, "if he produces it he is going to have it on his table and he will not eat chemicals". He rotates the sweet potato patch around to different places on his farm every year thus leaving behind any build up of pests to reduce or eliminate the need for the natural pesticides he has used in the past.  We are also offering "seconds" which are not the prettiest and tend to be smaller than the "firsts" but were still produced the same way for $20 instead of $30.

Turkeys: We still have plenty of small and medium turkeys left, $7/lb.  Also, chicken breasts are on sale!!

Goat Feta:  Made with our grassfed goat's milk and Himalayan Sea Salt.  $12 for 8oz.

Fermented Okra pickles: Quart Size mason jar with naturally fermented, organically grown okra heirloom varieties (Gold Coast, Bowling Red and Fife Creek Cowhorn) Interesting fact about bowling red okra…..they are beautiful red very ornamental on the plant but turns green both when cooked and also when fermented…..they are however in the pickled bottles adding to the antioxidant goodness.

Yes, they are very slimy, sour same as any fermented vegetables, so, the combination of slimy and sour may only appeal to some. However, I treat this slimy characteristic of okra as a medicine maintenance superfood for soothing the intestines to let everything process through smooth and easy similar to a well greased car part that function smoothly…for those of you who can relate to a well maintained vehicle :).

Now, if you are inspired to try these fermented okras marinated in fresh ground cumin, corrainder and turmeric but later find that you cannot stand the sliminess….they also make for excellent grilled okra …just lay them on a baking sheet, coat them with your favorite oil and bake them at 425 for about 10 – 15 minutes and they taste super delicious with a slight tangy taste.

Thanks for supporting a small, family farm and contributing to a more sustainable future,

Dennis and Alicia

Lily took this picture and I thought it was awesome.  100's of
butterfly's are on these Mexican Sunflowers everyday.  Plant them once
and they will come back year after year.

Trial Date: October 21st, Please Come And Show Your Support

Hello Small Farm Enthusiasts, Our trial date is set for October 21st at the Suwannee County Courthouse in Live Oak, FL. We would like to ask you to drop everything and come to the trial. The more people we can get into that room the better off we will be. If you want to say something on our behalf you may be allowed but if you want to observe, only, that works too. The judge will be persuaded by numbers of people interested in this case.

Rabbit, Chestnuts, Micro-Greens And A Trial 9/20/19

Hello Small Farm Enthusiasts, We may be going to trial. We are alleged criminals for selling food without a proper license. They sent an undercover investigator to our farm to buy our food and caught us red handed. We are charged with a second degree misdemeanor just like a druggy. Yes it is a very sick world we live in when the farmer and his wife who neither have ANY previous record are accused of a crime and the crime is something that people have been doing since the beginning of time.

Kefir, a Glass a Day Will Keep the Doctor Away and Persimmons A-plenty 9/6/19

Hello Small Farm Enthusiasts, Kefir made from raw, 100% grass fed milk is an amazing super food loaded with friendly bacteria for your gut. A healthy person will have 2 to 6 lbs of healthy bacteria in their gut. Another way to say this is that a healthy person will have 80% good bacteria and 20% bad in the gut but most Americans have this ratio reversed. This imbalance affects the immune function as these friendly bacteria are a huge part of your immune system.
