Gluten Free Homemade Sausage Gravy & Biscuits
Homemade sausage gravy is one of the easiest things to make, once you see just how easy it is you will never buy a packaged gravy mix again! Here is a family favorite recipe for a gluten free version of sausage gravy and biscuits. The gravy is rich and flavorful and the biscuits are light and fluffy.

Directions

Ingredients for the Gravy:

1 lb. of Breakfast Sausage (pasture raised, nitrite free)

2 Tbsp of organic butter

2 Tbsp of potato starch

2 cups of whole milk

salt and pepper to taste

In a medium sauce pot, cook sausage until browned. Add the butter and
potato starch to the sausage, stir and cook for about 1 minute. Whisk in
the milk and salt and pepper. Cook over medium heat until gravy begins
to thicken, about 2 minutes.

Ingredients for the Biscuits:

3/4 cup of rice flour

1/2 cup of sorghum flour

1/2 cup of tapioca starch

1 tsp of cream of tartar

1 tsp of baking soda

1/2 tsp of salt

1 Tbsp of unrefined sugar (optional)

1/4 cup of  organic butter, softened

1 large free-range egg

3/4 cup of whole milk

In small mixing bowl, combine dry ingredients. Beat together the
butter, egg and milk with electric mixer. Add dry ingredients and beat
on high for 30-60 seconds. Drop by large spoonfuls onto a parchment lined baking sheet. 

Bake at 400° for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Makes 1 dozen biscuits. Serve and enjoy!
