This ginger was grown organically in north central Florida and harvested in December 2022. We have put together a ginger tea kit that includes a cinnamon stick and cloves.
There are at least two ways to prepare the tea. The ingredients in the kit will make a quart, mason jars are convenient.
Option 1 is the Nourishing Traditions method.
Slice the ginger into thin slices and put the ingredients into the quart size container.
Boil a quart of water and pour into quart size container. Leave room to sweeten if desired, we suggest locally produced honey from a trusted apiary. Let steep in hot water until water darkens, about 2 or 3 hours. A mason jar will fit into many saucepans if you don't have a cup warmer.
Option 2 is much faster but cooks many of the nutrients out of the ginger.
Put contents into saucepan and add water. Bring to a boil and let boil until water darkens, about 20 minutes.
You can speed up either process by using less water. If tea is to strong add water. You can reuse the ingredients a few times. The tea will be weaker and take longer to brew after each reuse.
