Soup bones are meaty bones, great for making soups or stews. When combined with marrow bones they make an even richer, more nutrient dense broth.
To make soup: add soup bones (and marrow bones is you want) to pot with enough water to cover. Cook soup bones until meat falls off the bones, about 4 hours. At this point you can discard the bones and finish making your soup as described below OR take the meat off the bones, set meat aside, and put the bones back into the soup pot to continue to simmer several hours longer for broth making. Once you feel like the bones have been cooked down enough for your soup base, discard the bones and add the meat back in, along with any veggies, seasonings, canned tomatoes, etc and you will have a delicious, nourishing meal.
