A Big Change in How we Deliver 1/13/17

Hello SMALL Farm Enthusiasts,

The Big news here at FCF is that our faithful delivery team, HD and Michelle, will no longer be delivering our products to you.  This came about suddenly but thankfully we have extremely good help here, right now, so not anything we cannot handle. HD has a hernia which needs medical attention and he has been putting it off because it will take quite some time to rehab him after the surgery.  Now, after 6 years of consistently and dependably bringing you your order they have decided that the best thing is for them to drop the delivery and let someone else do it. We will handle this from within until a permanent solution comes along but if anyone is interested in more info on this please let us know immediately. HD and Michelle have done extremely well, with few mistakes; in fact the few times we have filled in we made more mistakes than they did. This job is for the highly organized person who does not easily get ruffled under pressure, a road warrior that has good customer service.  E-mail us if interested.

Our rye crop is getting bigger and better and that means our cows are eating more green!  Milk production has gone back up so that means more cream for you cream lovers.  Thank you for being flexible with the ebb and flow of our milk production during the winter months.

We LOVE visitors and because of that we have been doing lots of farm tours.  Even though we enjoy it very very much we feel it is time to get paid for it, so from now on we will be charging $10 for a tour.  This is now on the website as a product so that when you come for your tour it can be paid for, along with the products you want to pick up at that time. If you intend to pick up goods while at the farm touring, that order needs to be placed 2 days ahead of time and choose on farm pick up. Tours go from one to two hours and seldom more but for folks that are asking lots of questions and want more we recommend you schedule 2 as we do not want to fry your brain in one day……..ha ha. Tours will be done by any one of us here at the time including the interns which are always well versed in what we do, the way we do it and the how. I (Dennis) will do most of them but we will no longer guarantee me doing them. All tours are done by appointment only, never on a walk in basis and more than one group may be scheduled together however the $10 fee will be for an entire group or family. So, to clarify, there may be several paying groups in or on one tour.  When you come one person pays and you can bring whoever you want and as many people as you want, spouses, in laws and out laws are all welcome to join after the $10 is paid. Then we may schedule several of these groups at the same time.

For in depth learning we can talk about coming for weekends or workdays where you camp out on the farm or drive in early and pitch in with whatever is happening that day, also needs to be scheduled ahead. We prefer doing this only after a tour so that we can meet you ahead of time but if you are coming a distance and doing a tour first is prohibitive then approval can be had by emailing ahead of time. Farm tours will still be limited to one per week as we have time to do them so planning ahead is a very good thing. As our family grows we find it necessary to be more and more scheduled and organized for our sanity and the sanity of the entire team. I want to lastly say again that we LOVE visitors and take every opportunity to show our place, not because it is pretty but because  we feel this is important to build the connection to our customers and to educate people and to further the real foods movement.

The Salatin Eco Ag University continues here at FCF on Tuesday eves, if interested in joining us email for details.

Hello Small Farm Enthusiasts, Our trial date is set for October 21st at the Suwannee County Courthouse in Live Oak, FL. We would like to ask you to drop everything and come to the trial. The more people we can get into that room the better off we will be. If you want to say something on our behalf you may be allowed but if you want to observe, only, that works too. The judge will be persuaded by numbers of people interested in this case.

Rabbit, Chestnuts, Micro-Greens And A Trial 9/20/19

Hello Small Farm Enthusiasts, We may be going to trial. We are alleged criminals for selling food without a proper license. They sent an undercover investigator to our farm to buy our food and caught us red handed. We are charged with a second degree misdemeanor just like a druggy. Yes it is a very sick world we live in when the farmer and his wife who neither have ANY previous record are accused of a crime and the crime is something that people have been doing since the beginning of time.

Kefir, a Glass a Day Will Keep the Doctor Away and Persimmons A-plenty 9/6/19

Hello Small Farm Enthusiasts, Kefir made from raw, 100% grass fed milk is an amazing super food loaded with friendly bacteria for your gut. A healthy person will have 2 to 6 lbs of healthy bacteria in their gut. Another way to say this is that a healthy person will have 80% good bacteria and 20% bad in the gut but most Americans have this ratio reversed. This imbalance affects the immune function as these friendly bacteria are a huge part of your immune system.
