FCF Farm News

We have a lease on 200 acres in Southeast Lake City area but need the right people/family to move there and work the land under our direction, no previous farming experience needed, just a teachable entrepreneurial spirit, a VERY strong back and lots of energy, email thisisdennis@windstream.net for details. We are looking for someone to partner with us to create an income not someone who needs a paycheck. Water and power provided, bring your RV, mobile home or tiny house and live in the country.

New Interns...
We are excited to introduce our new interns Dylan & Rebecca.  After being married a month and a half they decided to experience what life on a farm would entail.  They both have a desire to know where their food comes from and how it is raised which is one of the reasons coming to our farm appealed to them.  They are also young, in love, love to travel and have no children (yet) so why not apprentice on a farm? Sounds perfectly logical to me! They moved here from Indiana  and have been a great addition to our team.  They are eager to learn and are very hard workers.  They bring fresh energy to the farm and we are blessed to have them.  If you come for a farm tour you will most likely see them helping out with milking, moving pigs, gardening, etc.

South Florida Delivery Changes...
We have decided to discontinue the Boca Raton delivery due to lack of interest however our Vero Beach & Palm Beach Garden delivery locations continue to grow so we are going to continue those.  Also, if you are located on the east coast north of Vero Beach (ex. St. Augustine, Daytona Beach, Cocoa Beach) and are interested in hosting a delivery, please contact us as we are looking to add new delivery locations on our way up/down the coast.
Order Deadline Changes...
Starting with the Jacksonville Delivery on July 16th and going forward for the bi-weekly Jacksonville & bi-weekly Tampa delivery routes, we are going to shift our order deadline from Tuesday at midnight to Monday at midnight.  This will allow us to have more time to pack the orders in advance and send out the order packed emails so that you can pay for your order via credit card in advance if you wish.  We are trying to be conscious of not working so many late hours here at the farm and this will help us to accomplish that.  This is what the next JAX & Tampa order dates will look like:
JAX:
  • Order Deadline: Monday July 13th (by midnight
  • Order Delivery: Thursday July 16th
Tampa Route:
  • Order Deadline: Monday July 20th (by midnight
  • Order Delivery: Thursday 23rd
There will be no changes for the 441 Growers Market in Gainesville and the Neptune Beach Market as these orders are smaller.  So the the order deadline will stayThursday at midnight to be delivered on Saturday
Finally, for the South Florida Delivery (to Vero Beach & Palm Beach Gardens), the order deadline will change from Saturday at midnight to Friday at midnight so that we do not have to work through the weekend packing orders and we can pack themMonday to go out Tuesday AM.
We will update the website accordingly with these changes so it will be clear and you can view the order delivery date and order deadline when placing your next order.

Pork highlights...

The 50/50 mix is back on the website.  If you haven't tried it yet we think you will be pleased.  It is 50% seasoned pan sausage (from our forest-fed pigs supplemented with Non-GMO verified feed) and 50% ground beef (from our cows fed 100% grass). It is an excellent mix that comes ground in 1 lb. avg. packs.  Great for meat balls, hamburgers, chili, just about anything that calls for ground beef!
Also, we have a few new pork bundles: Sausage Sampler Pack- Ground & Sausage Sampler Pack- Links.

Finally, we are continually replenishing our inventory so if you see something out of stock one week, it should be there by the next week.

Thanks for being conscious consumers who vote with your pocket book by supporting our growing family of farms and budding entrepreneurs,
Dennis and Alicia

Trial Date: October 21st, Please Come And Show Your Support

Hello Small Farm Enthusiasts, Our trial date is set for October 21st at the Suwannee County Courthouse in Live Oak, FL. We would like to ask you to drop everything and come to the trial. The more people we can get into that room the better off we will be. If you want to say something on our behalf you may be allowed but if you want to observe, only, that works too. The judge will be persuaded by numbers of people interested in this case.

Rabbit, Chestnuts, Micro-Greens And A Trial 9/20/19

Hello Small Farm Enthusiasts, We may be going to trial. We are alleged criminals for selling food without a proper license. They sent an undercover investigator to our farm to buy our food and caught us red handed. We are charged with a second degree misdemeanor just like a druggy. Yes it is a very sick world we live in when the farmer and his wife who neither have ANY previous record are accused of a crime and the crime is something that people have been doing since the beginning of time.

Kefir, a Glass a Day Will Keep the Doctor Away and Persimmons A-plenty 9/6/19

Hello Small Farm Enthusiasts, Kefir made from raw, 100% grass fed milk is an amazing super food loaded with friendly bacteria for your gut. A healthy person will have 2 to 6 lbs of healthy bacteria in their gut. Another way to say this is that a healthy person will have 80% good bacteria and 20% bad in the gut but most Americans have this ratio reversed. This imbalance affects the immune function as these friendly bacteria are a huge part of your immune system.
