441 Farmers Market (Gainesville) Revised Schedule...
Just a reminder that for the holidays we are going to switch up our schedule a bit for when we visit the 441 Farmers Market in Gainesville.  This will allow us to avoid holiday weekends and be able to fulfill your needs prior the key holidays this year.  Also, we will end up being off schedule of the current Thursday Gainesville delivery allowing us to deliver to Gainesville every single week; one week on Thursday and the next week on Saturday. Based on this below is the updated schedule for when we will be at the market for Nov-January
  • 12/5 (skipping over Thanksgiving and getting on new schedule)
  • 12/19 (2 weeks later)
  • 1/16 (4 weeks later- skipping over Christmas & New Years and staying on new schedule)
  • 1/30 (2 weeks later and consistent every 2 weeks going forward)

A Window of time for Placing Orders – Starting in January we will be placing a time frame of about a week where you will be able to place your order.  We feel like this is necessary so that we can better manage our inventory.  What this means is that you will not be able to place your order 2 weeks in advance but only during the allotted time for your particular delivery schedule.  We will also have reminder notifications that will be sent to your e-mail when it is time to place your order.

FCF News

Rick and Erin have been on the farm for about three months helping out with organizing the orders, learning about the animals and meeting with customers at the farmers markets and South Florida delivery. Rick is very interested in learning all about raising chickens and has really enjoyed raising his first batch of 200+ Cornish Cross chicks. These chickens were raised a little differently than our daughter Caroline raised hers, they were fed Non-GMO feed exclusively and were divided into smaller coops that Rick built. They were rotated daily (3 times a day as they got larger) to allow them fresh grass and bugs. As with the other animals raised on this farm these chickens have never received vaccines, hormones or antibiotics. We are preparing to harvest the chickens next week and are gearing things up for them to fly out the door! The whole chickens will be sold as a Non-GMO Full Circle Farm product $5.50/lb with an average weight being around 4 lbs a bird. We also have bags of heads and feet, livers, hearts, gizzards and 13 piece cut-ups that will be available from these same birds. You can find them here:  https://fullcirclerealfoods.com/store/poultry

The land is flowing with milk and HONEY here at Full Circle Farm.  Randy of Little River Organics and known for his Satsuma’s, Persimmons and Chestnuts, says that “the bees are on all you can eat from now till frost”.  Goldenrod and Spanish needle are  growing abundantly and, indeed, another good friend who keeps bees locally said, in about 3 weeks time, his bee hives had gone from half full to completely full of honey.  He had to harvest several gallons of honey so that the bees would keep making it.  Randy placed a couple of hives here at our farm and a lot of the nectar for this honey comes from a plant called Spanish needle and goldenrod.  Plus the field peas and hairy indigo are blooming in the stockpiled winter forage we grow for the cows.  Miscellaneous other plants that happen around here, in random places because we do not mow everything “real nice”, makes an additional source of bee food.  Jimmy taught me to graze half the ranch and keep half back for winter grazing and this just happens to grow lots and lots of bee food as well. It is nice to see the synergism that natural management provides for wildlife and bees. The honey Randy got from our farm last year was “some of the best [he] had ever tasted”.  He gave us a jar and I thought it was very complex and flavorful all around.  I hope one day we could master this on a large acreage and have some of this healing food for sale right off our farm.   Randy does not produce enough honey to sell but he is offering “Dark Baking Honey”.  It has a molasses/cane syrup flavor for dark breads, honey pecan pie, gingerbread or any recipe calling for molasses/brown sugar.  Natural raw wildflower honey was unintentionally mingled with molasses/cane syrup by the bees.  In early summer “Grandma’s Molasses” was fed as a mineral supplement to combat disappearing.   Randy is making this available at a fraction of the cost of other honeys. $14/qt

Lamb is available by the piece:  https://fullcirclerealfoods.com/store?q=lamb  and beef steaks and roasts again till they are gone. We are very limited on beef this year and we are hoping to find someone with large acreage, pasture land to do more in the near future.   We are also open to partnering with someone that is willing to implement the things I am learning from Jimmy.

Pork highlights...

As we are nearing the holidays, we wanted to remind you of some good products we have in stock that can add to your holiday cooking.  For example, our pork broth is excellent to use in soups and casseroles (https://fullcirclerealfoods.com/store?q=pork+broth).  Also, our pork lard which you can get by the pint or quart work very well when making homemade pie crusts (and yes we have tried it several times and no there is not a pork taste in the pie) (https://fullcirclerealfoods.com/product/pork-lard). Of course we have all of your favorite cuts in stock such as ham roasts (smoked or fresh) boston butt and shoulder roasts, pork chops, many flavors of sausages and more.
Very soon you should see our deer/sausage mix back in stock as we are waiting to get some wild caught deer from our local butcher to be able to create this great product again (https://fullcirclerealfoods.com/product/wild-venison-pork-mix).  Also, just a reminder that we go to the custom butcher once a month, the next time being 11/30 so get your half or whole orders in now for pickup/delivery the weeks of 12/7 and 12/14.

Here are some great pictures of our pigs under the oak and pecan trees on the property.  They are loving all of the acorns and pecans and this gives the meat an exceptional taste.  Also, as you can see in the one picture we use wood ash as it naturally detoxifies the pigs and they enjoy eating it up.

Thanks for being conscious consumers who vote with your pocket book by supporting our growing family of farms and budding entrepreneurs,

We watched the documentary called “The Business of Being Born” and it led to a conversation with a friend who shared this: http://www.ican-online.org/
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGpUToYGVb8 watch this if you are still taking fermented cod liver oil and also watch Kayla and Ron’s interview by Ann Marie as well. Until we have more evidence of safety I am no longer taking the fermented CLO. I am concerned about what I am seeing here to say the least and I know that from the top down the WAPF has a history of Ostrich syndrome. This I know personally and have for 10 years. https://ffnw.org/ is the new better organization and it sounds wonderful to me, I think it is way overdue.  I am all for giving credit where credit is due but when it’s time to run its time to run.  Go to the web site and see if the new gig does not speak your language a bit.

Trial Date: October 21st, Please Come And Show Your Support

Hello Small Farm Enthusiasts, Our trial date is set for October 21st at the Suwannee County Courthouse in Live Oak, FL. We would like to ask you to drop everything and come to the trial. The more people we can get into that room the better off we will be. If you want to say something on our behalf you may be allowed but if you want to observe, only, that works too. The judge will be persuaded by numbers of people interested in this case.

Rabbit, Chestnuts, Micro-Greens And A Trial 9/20/19

Hello Small Farm Enthusiasts, We may be going to trial. We are alleged criminals for selling food without a proper license. They sent an undercover investigator to our farm to buy our food and caught us red handed. We are charged with a second degree misdemeanor just like a druggy. Yes it is a very sick world we live in when the farmer and his wife who neither have ANY previous record are accused of a crime and the crime is something that people have been doing since the beginning of time.

Kefir, a Glass a Day Will Keep the Doctor Away and Persimmons A-plenty 9/6/19

Hello Small Farm Enthusiasts, Kefir made from raw, 100% grass fed milk is an amazing super food loaded with friendly bacteria for your gut. A healthy person will have 2 to 6 lbs of healthy bacteria in their gut. Another way to say this is that a healthy person will have 80% good bacteria and 20% bad in the gut but most Americans have this ratio reversed. This imbalance affects the immune function as these friendly bacteria are a huge part of your immune system.
