A Window of time for Placing Orders – Starting in January we will be placing a time frame of about a week where you will be able to place your order. We feel like this is necessary so that we can better manage our inventory. What this means is that you will not be able to place your order 2 weeks in advance but only during the allotted time for your particular delivery schedule. We will also have reminder notifications that will be sent to your e-mail when it is time to place your order.
FCF News
Merry Christmas from FCF,
Give the gift of health this year to your loved ones by giving them the Nourishing Traditions DVD set by Sally Fallon Morell. It is one gift that will keep on giving for the rest of a person’s life. In fact, if you have not seen these, give the gift to yourself then pass them on to anyone you care about. No need to say anything, they speak for themselves entirely. The person to whom you give them to that takes the time to watch these DVDs will see that you care about them greatly. We feel this set is one of the best, well referenced and the perfect blend between common sense and good science. https://fullcirclerealfoods.
This is absolutely stunning: https://www.youtube.com/watch?
Not too bad either, and whatever goes for beef is the same for milk: http://empoweredsustenance.
Winter rye is planted and looking good but not graze able yet but we still have lots o peas left. By the time the peas are gone we will have rye tall enough for grazing. Not feeding hay is going well for our first year. Maybe we should sell the tractor....? |
Concentrates. Have you enjoyed our flavored kefir (wild blueberry and eggnog) and/or ginger beer? Did you think either was too strong or sweet? When we drink either of those we treat them more like concentrates. We turn a quart of wild blueberry kefir into a half gallon by adding a quart of plain kefir and boy is it good and half as sweet! For a quart of ginger beer we pour half into another quart jar and add lots of crushed ice to both half full jars, let it sit awhile to allow the ice to melt about half way. You can drink it like that or add additional water. Or add cream, milk or half and half for a cream soda taste. Another hint for those who are trying to cut out carbs, add cream to your ice cream. I do all the time and I feel much better afterwards as the sugar is reduced, overall.
From Mike Rayburn's "Virtuoso Tips":
Most people in America…
Spend more than they make and are in debt, watch 3+ hours of TV per day, don’t like their job, do the least they can, call in sick when they’re not (lying), are overweight and don’t exercise, think only two pay periods ahead, blame others for their problems, and donate only a fraction of what they could.
I am baffled that those same people wonder why they…
Are unhappy, get sick and depressed, are dependent on the government, will work well into retirement, take multiple medications, can’t afford things they need, live paycheck to paycheck, and have unhappy relationships.
To be successful you must leave behind the safety of the approval of others.
So, you want a simple formula for mega success?
Don’t Be Like Most People!
Be weird. Be different. Be the oddball who refuses to justify mediocre performance.
The insidious challenge is that when people around us joke about and justify their average or underperformance in life it becomes social proof. We see others doing the same and figure it’s alright for us.
In the early 80’s a co-worker named Greg shaped my view on this. We worked at Fairfax Lumber and Millwork in Virginia. Greg was assessing a mistake he’d made on a louver, deciding whether or not he should fix it. His response? “It ain’t goin’ in my house,” and let it go. He was not alone in that attitude.
Greg would later wonder why he didn’t get a raise or promotion, never seeing a causal relationship between his actions and results. I decided then and there I would never be that guy. Don’t you either. Resist the tyranny of social proof.
So, my Virtuoso Tip for this week: Don’t be like most people!
Instead…
Surround yourself with people who hold you accountable
Take full responsibility
Hold yourself to a higher standard
Plan your future meticulously
Be healthy in mind, body and spirit
Give abundantly, even sacrificially
Virtuosos refuse to follow the crowd and instead blaze their own trail of excellence.
Pork highlights...
If you are interested in stocking up on pork and would like to learn more about getting a half or whole pig, the next time we will be taking pigs to the custom butcher is on 1/4 so we would need your order by 1/1. The pork would be ready for pickup/delivery by 1/13. You can place an order directly on the website by selecting Half or Whole Pig Deposit or email angelabowen@gmail.com for more information. The website provides full details specific to pricing, what is included in a half/whole pig (on average), etc. Here are a few pictures of the group of pigs that are ready to go to the butcher out in the woods enjoying foraging and the nice shade.
