Hello SMALL Farm Enthusiasts!
As I write this, hurricane Matthew is bearing down on us, our thoughts and prayers go out to all in the path of this storm.

Tulsi Brottrunk
Tulsi, also known as holy basil, is known for its healing power, and it has a rich history dating back to ancient eastern uses 3,000 years ago. This herb is adaptogenic, and have been used widely to promote health throughout the entire body. Tulsi is a perennial that has a light lemon scent and purple-pink flowers. This Brottrunk is made by infusing organically grown fresh Tulsi leaves and flowers.

Pork Highlights
Hi this is Ben the pork guy. We will soon have 1lb ground chorizo sausage back in stock. The pigs are doing well. I've still got my 2 groups in the woods and new piglets will be arriving around mid-month. My mom and sister visited this last weekend, and it was fun to show them the operation. The pigs get excited when I go out to see them. They follow me and crowd around when I clean their water dispenser... a wet pig is a happy pig, especially on hot days they will do anything to get wet. We raise our pigs in a pine forest with ample shade so in the heat of the day they usually dig a little earthen bed in the deepest shade they can find and take a nap. The pigs always have access to drinking water, but we do not provide them with a continual pool of water to play in. This quickly becomes unsanitary. Pigs have a certain eagerness. They are quick to be surprised, and quick to come and say hello out of curiosity. And they always like to stay together, they are communal animals, sleeping in big piles, and running around in humorously chaotic herds when excited. I hope to share some videos in the future.
A favorite recipe of ours that is both delicious and simple is a slow roasted Boston Butt Roast in the oven. Cover the Boston Butt liberally with course salt and pepper. Place on a rack or in a baking dish and cook for 5-6 hours in a 250 degree oven. The meat is so flavorful and tender when done and the prep time is 5 minutes or less!
Thanks for supporting a small, family farm and contributing to a more sustainable future,
Dennis and Alicia
