Thank You for Making it Possible For Us to Dream 1/26/18

Have you ever asked, what needs to change in our world?  The answer is...I do. This quote is from Matthew Kelly and I just finished reading his book called The Seven Levels Of Intimacy. Matt Kelly has written a number of books and if you are ready for change I highly recommend them.

Last week in our team meeting Barry, our delivery driver, asked me to write up a list of things that would improve our farm, and the cost of each one. Many times in our meetings we decide to buy one thing or another or decide not to, as we cannot afford it right now. I think you all can relate.  I am sure you too want things that cannot be purchased
right now. This is your with list, dream list or goals.  I decided if I am going to take the time to make a list I am just going to make it for all of our wonderful supporters, the very folks we would never do any of it without, So here goes, in no particular order.

1 A delivery vehicle, new could be 25k or more, used half that.

2 A larger walk in, 20k or used half that.

3 A building to house walk in and packing room, 40k or if done on the cheap half that.

4 A second floor on this building as living quarters to house visitors and interns etc. 30k.

5  A cabin in the woods in the front of our house for additional housing
for the same and to rent out to people as a quiet getaway in the
country, 50k.

6 A slaughter house on the farm so we can do our own gig and have it
done right plus offer to others in the area the service, bottom start up
for very modest beginning 50k up to do it right 300k.

7 Creamery………..yes a place to bottle milk, wash glass jars that are
returned for reuse, make cream, butter, cottage cheese, yogurt, kefir,
whey etc………….20k to 100k.

8 Cheese plant where we make our own cheese on the farm 100k approx. (I have not done enough research to be sure)

9 A solar water pumping system, 6 to 8k, payback time of about ten years. This one I want to do maybe first?

10 solar electric system, 15k to start and grow from there as the farm grows.

11 500 acre farm next door to produce our own beef, 3 million.

12 200 acre dairy down the road 7 miles to produce more grass fed milk, 1 million.

13 Jesse Greens Grits and meal mill and a building to house it properly with walk in etc, 60k.

14 Ice cream plant for production of ice cream, 40k.

15 commercial kitchen with building, 50k.

16 Artisanal pork production facility, 40k.

17 smokehouse for making jerky, sausage etc……….30k.

18 veggie operation, 10k would just jump start it good.

19 addition to our great room, 30k unless we do a second story for guest then 60k.

20 next to the above a green house, 30k. for growing winter veggies.

21 next to the above a sales building, 40k……….this would allow Alicia to take a very short walk thru the garden to get to a customer who needs help and it would also add a second driveway with more room for people to get around etc and not come near our toddlers or drive over them.

22 a completion on our milk in the pasture system, 25k priced with a Amish guy in PA

23 a new used tractor…..30k.

The purpose for doing this was so that Barry could pray about these items, that was his request and we would be delighted if more of you would do that too. It is also to write the vision and make it plain so that you who are customers can team with us in this journey. You are our cheer leaders, our cheering section and our source of feedback which without we can not know which way to go, literally. We are your servants and we want to remember that, without you we would not exist. We are only 15 years old and have lots to learn, with feedback we can learn
quickly and get on with it. My mom used to tell me, ”you bloom late but you always bloom nice”.  I wish I could hear her say that again but it will not happen, I have to rely on you and others around me to hear that now. We want to continue to earn your respect and patronage. We want to grow. If anyone sees something on this list they want to fund let us know. We also are having thoughts of doing a kick starter to raise money for the grits and meal mill but still in the evaluation stage and have one person still interested in possibly buying it. If that happens it is saved without us so no need. We will soon know what will happen there.

HELP CANANDA HAVE RAW MILK

If you could pass this information on to the raw milk drinkers that you know, it would be greatly appreciated.  Please leave the personal information on the bottom.

Let us work together to get raw milk in Canada.  If you have had medical conditions improve by drinking raw milk, please send the facts (Doctor, hospital), to the Canadian Minister of Health, The Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor, email: ginette.petitpastaylor@parl.gc.ca and c.c. The Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Foods, The Honourable Lawrence MacAulay, email: Lawrence.macaulay@parl.gc.ca.  We are requesting the Canadian government to Amend the Food and Drug Regulation to allow farms that are Certified by the Raw Milk Institute to legally supply raw milk to whom ever desires it.

I have just received a letter from Health Canada, Food Directorate, Karen McIntyre informing us, “While some Canadians continue to prefer raw milk because of perceived health benefits, these benefits are not supported by scientific evidence.  Health Canada continues to be of the opinion that the serious risk of illness from consuming raw milk outweights any possible benefits.”    “… forward any published studies to the Food Directorate’s Bureau of Microbial Hazards at the following email address:   Bmh_bdm@hs-sc.gc.ca

Thanks, May the MILK & HONEY Flow in Canada,

Trial Date: October 21st, Please Come And Show Your Support

Hello Small Farm Enthusiasts, Our trial date is set for October 21st at the Suwannee County Courthouse in Live Oak, FL. We would like to ask you to drop everything and come to the trial. The more people we can get into that room the better off we will be. If you want to say something on our behalf you may be allowed but if you want to observe, only, that works too. The judge will be persuaded by numbers of people interested in this case.

Rabbit, Chestnuts, Micro-Greens And A Trial 9/20/19

Hello Small Farm Enthusiasts, We may be going to trial. We are alleged criminals for selling food without a proper license. They sent an undercover investigator to our farm to buy our food and caught us red handed. We are charged with a second degree misdemeanor just like a druggy. Yes it is a very sick world we live in when the farmer and his wife who neither have ANY previous record are accused of a crime and the crime is something that people have been doing since the beginning of time.

Kefir, a Glass a Day Will Keep the Doctor Away and Persimmons A-plenty 9/6/19

Hello Small Farm Enthusiasts, Kefir made from raw, 100% grass fed milk is an amazing super food loaded with friendly bacteria for your gut. A healthy person will have 2 to 6 lbs of healthy bacteria in their gut. Another way to say this is that a healthy person will have 80% good bacteria and 20% bad in the gut but most Americans have this ratio reversed. This imbalance affects the immune function as these friendly bacteria are a huge part of your immune system.
