Hello SMALL Farm Enthusiasts,
Cheese, Applewood Smoked Cheddar, that is, has been added to our line up, only available now in 8 oz
pieces but I am working on that. It comes from the farm I was raised on in Pennsylvania, certified organic 30 years and 100% grass fed plus truly raw not 140 degrees raw. My nephew says it is “Fit to Kill” flavor. We agree but it will be up to you all whether or not we carry
the cheese long term. If it sells we carry it if not we won’t.
Last minute turkeys available. We have 6 small turkeys and 2 medium turkeys left. If you would like them sent on the truck for this week's delivery, let us know and we can start the defrost for you by putting your turkey in the fridge on Monday.
Please remember to pick up your order on Wednesday this week!!!
Our springs are dying!! I spent some time with our diving friend, George and he tells me he has been in our area for 10 years, taking divers from all over the world into the underwater caverns that are so prevalent in this area and in that time saw half the springs die. I
asked him how long until all of them will be dead and he said at the present rate, 10 more years. He blames chemical farming in a 5 mile radius of the spring. Chemicals cause algae bloom to the point where oxygen is limited, killing off the life in the spring and reducing
visibility to where diving is impossible, without ropes which defeats the purpose of diving itself. The same thing is happening to our
beaches. Run off from chemical food production is causing algae bloom there, too. I just want you to know that when you buy food from us none of this is happening from our style of food production. In fact the opposite. When we came here we had .05% organic matter in our soil, now we are close to 3% and that represents CO2 taken right out of the atmosphere and deposited into our soil where it holds nutrients to be taken up by our grasses. It is estimated that if just 5% of farms did things this way we could reverse gobal warming! George has dived the spring that receives water from our farm and it is one he says is good to go. Hopefully we can keep it clean. And yes, George is a good local customer, who loves supporting us.
Dr Thomas Seyfried was mentioned by Dr Mercola in Effortless Healing, google it to find good info on how to eat to prevent cancer (I cannot say heal or cure).
We hope you have a very blessed Thanksgiving!
