We Need 6 People! 4/7/17

Hello SMALL Farm Enthusiasts,
Very Important Event In Jacksonville: http://files.constantcontact.c...
Generosity abounds toward us here at FCF. Someone has given Ben a truck and many of you donated to Ben's truck fund, totaling $500, approximately. We are very thankful for such generosity! While the new truck is not what he had it is something that will work fine until he gets back on his feet a bit, so we are grateful. Once he gets another truck the old one can be used around the farm. Old trucks are handy to pull egg mobiles etc. You can never have too many of them. Ben even got 2 checks from out of state people that heard about us through the Justin Rhoad's Farm Tour show. That was quite a welcome surprise.
A bit of an explanation about the land for sale next to us. It is 60 acres and we have a friend willing to buy half of it and lease it back to us. We would like to buy the other half. That would take $60k, so we need only 6 people to advance pay for food at $10k each. 12 people to pay in advance would come to $5k each for food, or 30 people at $2000 each, and a combo works fine as well. We do not feel like we can go lower than $2000 as an advance because for example if we had 600 people each pay $100 in advance and they would order food it would all have to be paid back to the lender within a month and we cannot do that, we need several years minimum to pay this back.
There are many benefits to having this additional land. The very first one is that if we secure more land around us we insure that a chemical farmer does not get it and pollute our ground water or over spray of chemicals does not drift on to our fields. (our prevailing winds are from the northwest and this land is north of us) We already have a nice little nook here with little chemical farming imed next to us and securing this land continues that. Being able to expand with our customer demand is also a huge benefit. We started with one cow and her 6 month old calf just 13 years ago now we have 60 head of cattle, 300 chickens, 50 pigs and 15 goats plus lambs in summer. I feel like it is a very good thing to continue to grow. I have kids and partners that want to farm with us, plus we need numbers of people to win over Monsatan if you know what I mean. More numbers equal more strength, more persuasive power when convincing people that this is working. We need to show that we are not just 3 crazy hippies in the woods drinking raw milk. No, we are hundreds of healthy families and growing fast. By the way, I believe out of the hundreds there are more than 6 that will buy 10k worth of food in the next 10 years.
We are a strong growing trend here. 15 years ago when we were first listed on www.eatwild.com we were the only farm listed in FL for 3 years. Now there are a hundred listings. If this happens again, in the next 15 years, we will have 5000 small family farms doing real food in our state. This is exciting and yes there is strength in numbers. We will start to be influential in many ways and this will help us to convince the nay sayers. I want to see this happen and I believe many of you do too! Lets work together on it.
We are asking for your help in this expansion and we are making it worth your while by giving you 10% additional credit when you donate 5k or more, 5% for 2k. We already have several on board.
Please let us know if you would like to support us in this endeavor and how much you will be lending. Once we know the amount and that it is enough to move forward with the purchase we will then ask you to write your check or pay with credit card. For now, all we need is the amount you are committing to. The land owners have given us 10 days to decide if we want to buy it or not so please let us know as soon as you can.

100% Sourdough organic Buckwheat Bread
Picture of the Gluten-Free Buckwheat bread below is with Poppy seeds…breads will be made without it.
Buckwheat is a gluten free power food! It is a fruit seed that is related to rhubarb and sorrel, making it a suitable substitute for grains for people who are sensitive to wheat or other grains that contain protein glutens. Buckwheat flowers are very fragrant and are attractive to bees that use them to produce a special, strongly flavored, dark honey.
Ingredients: All organic - Fresh ground buckwheat flour, Sourdough Gluten-free culture, sea salt and well water.
100% Sourdough organic Sorghum and Millet Bread
